Here is How to Get Rid of Ants in the House Naturally!

Are ants circulating in your home? There are tips that will help you get rid of them naturally. Here’s how to remove these unwanted visitors.

This recipe is based on natural ingredients that will prevent you from use of chemicals, harmful to health. Here’s what you need:


  • A jar
  • A spray bottle
  • 2 oranges
  • 1 grapefruit
  • 1 lemon
  • ½ cup white vinegar


Squeeze the juice of the fruits keeping the pulp and pour it into the jar. Then, add the vinegar and let the mixture in a cool place for a week or two, be sure to close the jar. After this period, open the jar, strain the mixture to remove the pulp, pour into a spray bottle and your ant exterminator spray is ready!

Spray daily on different corners of your home with the mixture, particularly where the ants are circulating. If you notice that they are more present, nothing to worry about, the fruity taste of the mixture will attract them, then they will be poisoned because citrus fruits are toxic to ants.

Here are more tips to get rid of ants

White vinegar and water

If there is one thing that ants hate, it is the white vinegar. This insecticide is cheap and eco-efficient. Mix two equal parts white vinegar and water, and spray in different corners of your home. The ants will leave your home once and for all because they hate white vinegar!

Alternatively, you can also use this mixture to clean your mirrors and windows, vinegar will give them shine.

Lemon juice

If you don’t like vinegar, you can use lemon juice. Mix one part lemon juice to three parts water and spray the ants with the mixture. The citric acid will exterminate them once and for all!

Dishwashing liquid and water

In a bottle, pour a third of dishwashing liquid and two-thirds water, shake well and spray the mixture on the different places where the ants are circulating. It will suffocate them immediately. Soapy water is a very effective insecticide that you can even use it to get rid of cockroaches.

Apple cider vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is very effective to keep ants away from your kitchen. For this, clean every corner of the kitchen as the cupboards or worktops with water mixed with apple cider vinegar (mix two equal parts of water and apple cider vinegar). This trick is very effective because the insects hate the smell of vinegar.


The smell from mint repels ants. Mix some mint essential oil with water and spray it in different corners of your home. Otherwise, you can infuse sachets of dried mint leaves. Let the tea cool and pour it into a spray.

Last tip: to prevent the ants from visiting your home, just hang bags of dried mint on the top of the windows.
